Welcome to the basics

Jahari Christian Academy was established 2011

We started this school as a response to a call we felt to address the needs in our community for individual education and upliftment. As educators, we are passionate about providing opportunities for ALL students to thrive. Our school embraces a community that learns, grows, and improves—together.

By encouraging learning with proven solutions and support, our educators create the environment to ensure successful results.

Grade 1 to 12 education

  • Students are diagnosed academically and placed on the appropriate level.

Learning Approach

A range of initiatives is in place to promote academic excellence at Jahari, including:

  • Individualised learning through self-paced modules
  • Integration of a fully digital study platform that allow in-class differentiation
  • Integrating blended learning in the learning centre through various media courses

Excellent academic standard

  • Aims to develop learner independence by placing responsibility for learning in the hands of students, imparting them with skills on how to learn and study.
  • Focus on skills and practices that enable lifelong learning and independent problem-solving.
  • Emphasizes the learner's critical role in deriving meaning from new information and prior experience

Dedicated staff

Our staff create a learning environment for all learners – a place of shelter, a place called home, a place where individuals are valued, a place where values are essential, learning is central and potential is released.

Registered with the Gauteng Department of Education

  • We are registered as an independent combined school
  • We are internationally recognised with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and Universities SA (USAf)
  • USAf recognises our graduation certificates as a foreign equivalent (NQF4) to the South African national grade 12.

Other activities

  1. Computers: All of our students from grade 9 and upwards will learn the Microsoft Office suite as a part of the curriculum. This is a minimum requirement to be able to operate computers in the business world.
  2. Sport: Physical training is done on Fridays, and includes practicing for participation in local, provincial, and national sports events. Sports activities include soccer, netball and athletics. The large pool is mainly used for fun days and cooling off after sporting events in the summer.
  3. Student convention: An annual event where students showcase their talents, together with students from all over the country.

About Us

Our education

Why choose us?

One of the most important decisions we will make as parents, is the choice of our child’s education.  We would like to invite you to visit us to explore our school as one of the options available for your child’s school career.

We assist parents in nurturing their children education to inspire children, young men and women to achieve their highest potential in school and in life.

Each child has a unique learning style with God-given abilities and talents.  Our learning programs utilise results-driven processes rather than conventionally applied time-focused education curricula.

We are a partner school of  Partners for Possibility (PfP), the flagship programme of Symphonia for South Africa (SSA). SSA is a national NPO & PBO, based in Bellville, Cape Town, with a bold and audacious vision: Quality education for all children in South Africa by 2025.

We are an ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) member school. STRONGER TOGETHER!

Our vision, mission and values

Our Vision

It is our desire to create a loving, controlled environment to unlock every student’s full potential.  Through daily personal attention, and the use of our unique school systems, the children will develop in character, academic competency, sport, and self-discipline, with a Godly character.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a quality based education to our children with the best individually based tuition, quality materials and modern curriculum. We empower and inspire young men and women to achieve their highest potential through academic excellence.

Our Values

We embrace Diversity. Our reason for being is to provide a holistic approach to the education of children—imparting Godly values which serve as a foundation; providing an environment which promotes emotional wellbeing; stimulating and developing the child’s physical interests and talents; and sharpening the life skills necessary for every child to become a mature, productive member of society.  There is no discrimination on any basis, even religious persuasion. In fact, the school is absolutely non-elitist, striving to make a quality private education available to any child.

Who we are?

We recognize the significance of teaching children the truth of God’s word because children are God’s greatest creation and are created in His image and are special in His eyes. (Gen. 1:27)  All children deserve opportunities to learn and grow in the Lord. (Ps. 139:14).  No child is exempt from God’s purpose and plan and all should be encouraged to know and trust in Him, worship Him, and serve Him.
